Creating Better Experiences at Work
I bet if I were to ask you if you want a better experience at work, you would say YES YES YES!
We would take away the uncomfortable tension on the team, the ideas that go unheard, and overwhelming expectations and achievements that often go unrecognized.
Instead, we would be excited to come to work on Mondays, we should feel fine taking 15 minutes to talk to a coworker in the hall, and we would enjoy the work we're doing.
Are you still saying HECK YES? Keep going…
But first, who should own creating good experiences at work…
Is it you?
Is it the CEO?
Is it HR?
We all want the same thing but this is where it breaks down, everyone wants it but no one owns it.
So what's should we do? How do we make sure we're creating better experiences at work for YOU and for the rest of your team?
It starts by taking ownership of every action and interaction you have. When you do that, you will start examining what you are doing, why you're doing it and how you are doing it.
You will start to speak more intentionally.
You will pay more attention to the details of the process.
You will feel more empowered as a leader in your position.
We all have a role in creating better work experiences and the sooner you focus on your contributions, the closer you are to the experience you want.
